Netflix has confirmed that it has been working with Bandai Namco to produce a Tekken-themed anime series titled, Tekken: Bloodline. The plot synopsis of the impressive looking anime is that Jin Kazama, who made his debut in the classic Tekken 3, has started on a heroic mission leading to the ultimate battle the King of Iron Fist Tournament. A release date for Tekken Bloodline hasn’t been announced, but it is scheduled for release later this year. You can watch the trailer for the Tekken anime series down below.

“Power is everything.” Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.

  1. Looks like it be based on the Tekken 3 story, while also mixing in characters from later TK games (considering Leroy is seen here), should be interesting.

Does anyone know the animation studio behind this?

    1. Tekken has a history of 4 appearances on Nintendo consoles, with those being Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (Wii U), Tekken Advance (GBA), Tekken 3D Prime Edition (3DS), & Kazuya’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. You could technically count that as 5 appearances since Pokken is modeled after Tekken and all. Although it’s small, there is a chance Tekken games might return to Nintendo consoles in the future and regardless, they were on previous consoles. That would make this news still relevant on here.
