In today’s age, where there is heavy reliance on technology and especially the internet, it is not uncommon for video gaming companies to experience cyber-attacks or other shady behavior. Nintendo and Sony have had their own share of issues in recent years. And last week, it was Ubisoft‘s turn.
Ubisoft announced earlier today that “last week, Ubisoft experienced a cyber security incident that caused temporary disruption to some of our games, systems, and services. Our IT teams are working with leading external experts to investigate the issue. As a precautionary measure we initiated a company-wide password reset. Also, we can confirm that all our games and services are functioning normally and that at this time there is no evidence any player personal information was accessed or exposed as a by-product of this incident”.
This bothered me too, lol. For future reference, “affect” means to change something that has already been established, and an “effect” is something that was built or established because of something that happened. Effects usually come after something has been affected.
Thanks, changed this on behalf of SSF1991.
Its a shame that big gaming companies like this one has to go through this every time if there is a hacker or security breach. Some things are just not fair in this world we live in. Its pointless.
